The Economy for the Common Good (ECG) is an economic model, which makes the Common Good, a good life for everyone on a healthy planet, its primary goal, and purpose.

At the heart of this concept lies the idea that values-driven businesses are mindful of and committed to human dignity, solidarity and social justice, environmental sustainability, and transparency and co-determination.

To develop and promote this economic model, a grassroots volunteer movement formed in 2010. It is organized into ECG Local Chapters, Hubs (permanent working groups) and regional and national associations. To support the global ECG movement, the International Federation for the Economy for the Common Good e. V. acts as an international umbrella organization.

Your Role

The International Federation for the Economy for the Common Good e. V. will continue its efforts to develop systematic, sustainable fundraising. For this, a professional for public grants fundraising will be appointed. The main objective of the position is to raise funds for the International Federation based on public grants, enable projects and services to be fundraising-ready for public grants, and support regional and national associations in their public grant applications activities.

Tasks include:

Building on the first two years of a pilot fundraising position, the service includes but is not limited to the following tasks which are in accordance with the aim of service:

  • Raising money for the international federation through (public) grant application writing and management as well as network building
  • Building relationships to organizations, public offices, institutions, foundations to receive grants
  • Making projects and services on the international level fundraising-ready by checking on potential flaws in description and aligning to (public) grant schemes; support projects within the ECG movement in terms of public fundraising.
  • Support the advancing of strategy, organization, processes, and systems within the international federation with regards to fundraising
  • Support the developing of fundraising capacities and capabilities within the whole movement especially with a focus on enabling (public) grant applications
  • Identify, profile and prioritize new trusts to develop a funding plan to achieve income targets
  • Review existing and previous funders to assess potential for further collaboration Collaboration with respective teams such as fundraising and PR as well as national associations. The person has to attend the regular Hub meetings like the Hub of Hub meeting, Delegates Assembly, Fundraising Hub meeting etc.
  • Responsible to represent the Fundraising Hub within key projects and working groups (strategy, professional services, organizational structure, etc.)

Your profile

  • To be successful in the role of International Public Grants Fundraiser you will be a confident and effective grant fundraiser, with a strong track record in producing successful, high quality applications and tenders, with the ability to identify and work closely with private trusts and foundations. You will be able to communicate compelling messages in written form and have excellent interpersonal skills to influence and engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Our donors come almost exclusively from the German-speaking area. Therefore, it is a must to be fluent in German and English, further languages Spanish favorable.
  • Ability to work in an international team in a complex and rapidly changing environment
  • You work reliable, team-oriented, flexible and are willing to take responsibility
  • You identify yourself with the idea of the Economy for the Common Good
